Fortwilliam Fishery

Water levels are at an all time low and the lowest  I have ever seen but still producing fish . Yesterday was another good day with 3 fish taken off the Castle beat all on fly. Denis Cahill from Dublin had a nice grilse of 4 lbs off the Brigde stream. Later on that day Denis landed his second fish of 7lbs from the Powdering Tub pool. After a while Dave Adam entered the same pool and he too landed a grilse of 5lbs.Today only the 1 grilse of 4lbs to Brian Henessey from Waterford off the Bishops on spinner. Forecast for the week is to stay fine and then some rain forecasted for the weekend.

Good few fish landed over the weekend and plenty of fish in the pools. A good weekend for the Clerkin family from Cavan having 7 fish for their weekend.Patrick Clerkin had a cracking fish of 14lbs sea-liced. Patrick then landed another fish 10lb and 6lbs all on spinner. His brother James had 2 grilse of 5lb and 6lbs on fly. Father Jimmy Clerkin had a 6lb fish on spinner and mum Ann also had a fish of 5lbs. David keane landed 2 nice grilse of 4lbs and 5lbs on fly. The Golf beat produced 4 fish all grilse so finally things are going well. Water levels are rising up stream so prospects are looking good.
